Travel Doo Pro 5 Didgeridoo – Dr Didge Dolphin
The Travel Doo Pro 5 Didgeridoo (TDP5) is the latest in the series of Dr Didge Dolphin’s hard fibre full octave travel doos.
The TDP5 consists of x3 body parts which are pressed together, and x2 aluminium sliders which are collapsible, and x1 small aluminium slider for extra length.
The TDP5 comes with 3 press and turn, interchangeable, wooden mouth pieces 28.5mm, 30mm and 32mm. The bell is 130mm wide. The TDP5 weighs 4.0kg and fits into a 62cm bag.
The difference to the Travel Doo Pro 4 (TDP4) is that the TDP5 Didgeridoo has press and turn interchangeable parts as the screwable parts have been replaced (except connecting the small aluminum slider to the longer aluminum slider).
When the sliders are fully extended the key is A#1. When fully collapsed the key is F2. This range of notes are the common notes used when playing didgeridoo. When the small slider is added, the key can go lower to G#1 and can gracefully move up to the F2 covering this harmonic interval.
Travel Doo Pro 5 didgeridoo configurations
The TDP5 can also be played in other configurations as it has an adaptor to connect part 1 to 3 leaving part 2 off.
The key range here is C2 – A#2. When the small slider is added, the key drops to A#1. This set up is ideal for performance and for sound healing, playing over people’s bodies as the didge becomes lighter and shorter.
Another configuration is to remove the bell and play with part 1 and 2 and 2 sliders.
It’s also great for players who like to play in the higher key ranges.

The difference between the early models of the TDPro and the TDP4 and up is that there is now 2 slider parts at the top. This allows for very quick key changes in the common keys ie D-A. Like earlier models it still covers a full octave from low A-high A
The TDP4 still had body parts and mouthpieces that screwed together. The big upgrade to the TDP5 is that now mouthpieces and body parts have press and turn joins with O rings for a great seal. This allows for very easy and quick changes to the set up.
The big difference about the Travel Doo Pro Didgeridoo series compared to other sliders on the market is the adaptor which changes the shape of the didge to a more yidaki shape which has awesome back pressure and ease of playing.
It is excellent for playing in higher keys and a more traditional style of playing ie hard and fast with easy toots.
